Vancouver's Chinatown is always very popular with the Chinese and tourists for its restaurants, boutiques, cultural events, and its historical charm.
The Millennium Gate literally the gate to Chinatown. It was built in 2002, which explains its name, reminding the turn of the millennium.
The Millennium Gate also honours the Chinese-Canadians, reminding their important role in Vancouver history.Each of the two gates symbolizes a bridge between Orient and Occident, between traditional and modern.
Drawings and sculptures in the gate represent various traditional clothing styles worn in China.
