Voices from Another Time | The Bellows-Buckland Cemetery
Presented by
Ville de Coaticook

Hidden in a grove where a giant maple keeps guard, the little Bellows-Buckland Cemetery is home to the gravesites of one of the first pioneer families in the Township of Barnston.

It is one of the most typical examples of the family cemeteries established by pioneers of American origin in the early 1800s. Within it is the obelisk of John Bellows, one of the builders of Barnston’s Baptist Church. Constructed in 1837, this church is one of the region’s heritage treasures.

A guide will accompany you during your tour, and you’ll meet John’s daughter Sarah, a ghost from the grave who will recount her tale of another time.

This audioguide will help make your visit of the Bellows Cemetery a memorable one. Be sure to travel to the cemetery itself: onsite, you will fully appreciate the beauty and the spirit of the place!

N.B. We suggest that you use the tour preload option on your smart device (tablet or telephone) by selecting “Preload.” You will then be able to access all of the content when you are onsite via the “My Tours” menu and to be guided by GPS without having to be connected to the Internet. We also recommend the use of earphones to fully enjoy the audio content.
