Napoléon-Alexandre Comeau House

Napoléon-Alexandre Comeau House

Opened in 1951, this building housed the offices of Canada Post until the late 1990s. Like any Federal building of that time, part of the basement is a bunker which could be used in case of natural disaster or a war situation.

The City of Baie-Comeau later moved the Napoleon-Alexandre Comeau House here. Nowadays, there are a document management center, a regional certified archival center and the archives of the City of Baie-Comeau.

The building is also home to the Historical Society of the North Shore, whose premises include a library full of information, photos and artifacts. The services of an archivist that can answer your questions or do research for you are also offered on site.
