Pioneer Park

In front of the magnificent St-Lawrence River

You are now on the site of the Pioneer park, in front of the magnificent St-Lawrence River. The park was inaugurated in 1987 to mark the 50th anniversary of the City of Baie-Comeau. Pioneer Park is the most popular outdoor gathering place in the historical district. Throughout the year, the park is enjoyed by families, walkers and other outdoor enthusiasts.

At the time, the project was made possible through the generous financial contribution of the federal government. The prime minister of Canada from 1984 to 1993, Brian Mulroney, was a native of Baie-Comeau.

On site, you can find a children's playground alongside a fitness area, where adequate facilities are available to passersby, as well as picnic tables and access to the beach.

In winter, before a breathtaking landscape, a skating rink is set up around the park and music is played for skaters to enjoy.

In summer, shows are presented on the outdoor stage as well as activities of all kinds. The national holidays are also celebrated here.
