Birthplace of Magog

Banks of the river Magog

Fantasist engraving of the lake

The land around you was the Abenakis hunting and fishing grounds.

The river flows from the lake and descends in rapids until it reaches the Alsigantéka River, or the St. Francis River as we know it today, in Sherbrooke. The waters then continue to flow on to the St. Lawrence River.

The Sekesoonotek River, which we call the Magog River, was not as deep as it is today. Even the width of the river was different, due to the dam that would be built upstream in a hundred years or so.
