Niagara Region Sightseeing and Discovery Tour

Welcome to the magnificent Niagara region, a peninsula renowned worldwide for its vineyards and famous waterfalls.

Consult the interactive map to discover the history and attractions that correspond to the main points of interest suggested!

CONTEXT

The Niagara region is made up of 12 municipalities, including Niagara-on-the-Lake, St. Catharines, Thorold, Niagara Falls and Welland, all of which we'd like to introduce to you.

This region is full of unusual discoveries and experiences that you can explore on foot, by car or on your bicycle.

The landscape is bucolic, interspersed with scenic promenades, tumbling rivers, waterways, sandy beaches, and countless bicycle paths. And as Francophones and other Francophiles are renowned for their epicurean side, we'll also accompany you in your discovery of the region's culinary delights.

On this tour, you'll also enjoy experiences that are lightly tinged with history, heritage and Francophone encounters.

According to Bonjour Niagara, a socio-economic organization in the region, there are around 15,000 Francophones settled on this territory, while over 53,000 people have French origins (out of 447,888 total inhabitants - 2016 and 2018 data). The most widely used language remains English.

TO DISCOVER

The interactive map highlights points of interest related to Francophone heritage and/or businesses that will offer you services in French according to the National Classification of French Language Services. This classification is broken down into 3 service categories.

For each suggestion, we'll tell you what kind of service you can expect to receive once you're there. During your visit, you can be greeted by French speakers, or simply have access to information panels in French.

We wish you a memorable stay in the magnificent Niagara region, a wonderful life experience and rich encounters.
