Inaugurated by the President of the Republic in May 2015, the Mémorial ACTe is a place of expression and remembrance of the slave trade and slavery, with a unique architecture in the Caribbean.Educational and accessible, the Mémorial ACTe, built on the site of the former Darboussier sugar factory, offers several spaces for exploration:- a permanent exhibition spanning 1700 m²- a space dedicated to contemporary artistic creation during temporary exhibitions- a panoramic garden, the Morne Mémoire, offering views of the ocean, the mountains of Basse-Terre, and the bay of Pointe-à-Pitre.- a monumental walkway (12 m high, 275 m long) connects the Morne Mémoire to the rest of the structure.
