This modern house, built in 1951, is the only example of its style in the executive’s quarter. Its cubic and rectangular forms, its recesses and projections, its solid and voids elements are well-balanced. However, the choice of certain materials, such as steel for the canopies and the upper-floor cladding, gives it a certain harshness that does not sit well with residential architecture.
Historical Significance
The appeal of this house lies in its avant-garde architecture, although it was built in the 1950s, it embodies the modern residential architectural movement of the 1970s. It offers an interesting overall view thanks to its location, set back from the road and following the curve at the beginning of the crescent. The landscaping, combined with the contemporary style of the building, gives it the atmosphere of a Californian home.
