Granite Interpretation Centre
Here you will learn about the manufacturers and discover the history of granite production and processing dating from 1860. See the work of ten different manufacturers and artisans working in Stanstead, the granite capital of Canada. Videos, photographs, artifacts, tools from the past and present and the largest stone cutting saw in the world (over 14 feet in diameter) are on display here.
A driving tour is also suggested and will allow visitors see the amazing architecture of local homes and buildings made out of granite. A visit to the quarry is also a great way to learn about this area's fascinating history. A boutique and tourist information centre are available on site.
