Ulverton marks the northernmost limit of the American colonization of the Eastern Townships.

Some people believe the name originated from Tilverton, a village near Dublin and the birthplace of one of Ulverton’s founders, Edmund T. Patterson. Others contend the name refers to the English village of Ulverton. The exceptional quality and diversity of the historical buildings seen along the village’s roads and paths make Ulverton one of the most genuine and picturesque communities in Quebec.
