Légaré Cottage

Légaré Cottage

Located in Rang 3 East, the Légaré cottage was intended to be a shelter where cross-country skiers could warm up before heading up again.
In 1980, cross-country skiing was a very popular sport. Several trails were accessible and Saint-Odilon cleared land to develop a trail that would join the Beauce-Appalaches Trail that spans from Lac-Etchemin to Sainte-Marie. Today, the cross-country skiing trail was relocated closer to the urban area.

Légaré Cottage, 2016

Today, the Légaré Cottage no longer has its original purpose.
The population knows this place for its charm and its direct access to the Etchemin River. It is not unusual to see anglers or canoe and kayak enthusiasts there.
