Houses with embossed sheet metal siding are a very common sight in Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré. This sheet metal, composed of tin or steel, started to be used in the middle of the 19th century. With its stone or brickwork motifs, the metal siding plays an aesthetic but also a practical role, given that its shape allows the material to expand and contract, yet remain undamaged, by temperature variations.
