The Corner Store

As the downtown area is being developed, members of the Urban Planning Commission are concerned about the lack of local businesses in the residential areas. With the exception of a single business located on De La Salle Street, there are no grocery stores nearby to meet the needs of the modern post-war residents. The Corner Store is designed to meet these new needs.

The building's curve makes it fit perfectly on the site, which is at the corner of Powell Street and Saguenay Boulevard. The neo-vernacular building is inspired by traditional architecture.
