Housed in a typical Ottawa architectural and historical building, the Royal Canadian Mint Museum is the headquarters of the Crown Corporation responsible for the production and distribution of Canada's coins.

Since 1908, the Royal Canadian Mint has been designing, producing, and distributing our national currency, as well as consulting with more than 80 countries around the world.

The Crown Corporation also operates some of the most advanced gold and silver refineries in the world, where innovation and environmental issues are paramount.

In 2022, the Royal Canadian Mint produced its new 1 oz. 99.99% pure gold bullion coin featuring a... Maple Leaf. This coin is dedicated to investors and collectors.

The year 2022 also marked the 175th anniversary of the birth of the famous telephone inventor Alexander Graham Bell, and a new coin featuring him circulated.

You will discover real works of art, in gold, silver and nickel, of different shapes and patterns, some of which are adorned with beautiful colours. The museum also allows you to manipulate some coins.

In the summer, you will also be able to take in your hands and weigh a real gold bar or silver bar. An experience that will mark you for life!
