A park at the junction of the two cities

Welcome to Aimé-Mignault Park

This is where your journey begins!

The park is named after Aimé Mignault, a Rouyn-Noranda fiddler, violinist and music teacher. He was also the man who brought the first instrument to town - a violin, of course!

From his modest music school, for which he imported and sold musical instruments to his students, was born the Mignault Musique store, an institution in the field in Rouyn-Noranda!

The building adjacent to the park on Principale Avenue, which now houses the QG concert hall, has long been home to the business.

Chimneys and Headframes!

Noranda as seen from the south shore of Osisko Lake, with the iconic mine chimneys and headframes in the background, which have now disappeared.
