The executive quarter, a prestigious crescent

The neighborhood from the air!

1933 view of Noranda's executive quarter. Several of Noranda's residential streets can be seen in the background. Also on the left, in the center, is the Carmichael Roman Catholic School, and in the foreground, near Osisko Lake, the opulent home of Henry Roscoe, who was assistant general manager of the Horne mine from 1926 to 1931, before being appointed general manager, a position he held until 1948.

On the foundry's horizon

View from the roof of one of the foundry buildings towards the executive quarter.

A half-moon at the foot of the mine

View of part of the executive quarter circa 1930. In the foreground, a charming house that no longer exists, and on the right, the foundry's reception building before it was renovated.
