Sweeten your Spout

Discover Canada's southernmost maple farm!

Ruscom Maple Farms is located along the Ruscom River in Lakeshore, Essex County, in southwestern Ontario.

This small sugar shack began its operations in 2020.

Since then, the new maple syrup producers have opened their doors to all visitors, proudly explaining the maple syrup production process.

Here, you'll discover the traditional way of making maple syrup. The owners of Ruscom Maple Farm use an ancestral method handed down to them by their ancestors from the Beauce region of Quebec and Madawaska County in New Brunswick.

The sap is collected by hand, then taken to the cabin to be boiled over a wood fire. This operation then transforms the drops of sap from this unique tree (the maple) into pure maple syrup, butter or candy.

Did you know that maple syrup is used by some of the world's greatest chefs?

In short, a real treat not to be missed. In fact, we call it 'sweet tooth”
