AWE is a person-centred art gallery for the 21st century that inspires growth through the power of art with innovative exhibitions, events, and programming.
Digitally immersive experiences Flowing Forces, and Against the Current, created in collaboration with Montreal based multimedia studio Moment Factory, invites audiences from across Southwestern Ontario and Detroit to activate our collection in new and exciting ways by using their smartphones and QR codes to activate our collection and create an interactive work of art.
Exhibitions at AWE focus on historically underrepresented artists and are made accessible to Windsor’s large, diverse francophone community through bilingual guided tours.
Every third Thursday of the month Art Windsor-Essex hosts their event series AWE at Night, an evening of art-activities, community conversations and music.
In January of 2023 AWE at Night featured bilingual studio activities, a bilingual guided tour of French artist Manuel Mathieu’s World Discovered Under Other Skies and a French community conversation.
