The Deshaies Botanical Garden is located on a 7-hectare property that once belonged to the comedian Coluche. He purchased the property in 1979.
On June 19, 1985, Coluche asked his friend Michel Gaillard, a landscaper and nurseryman, to take care of and maintain his property in exchange for using the land to create a nursery project he wished to undertake. Unfortunately, a year later, Coluche passed away.
Michel Gaillard bought the property in October 1991. His knowledge and attachment to this beautifully located land, with a sea view in the background, prompted him to take on the enormous challenge of transforming the site into a botanical garden.
It is to the previous owner, Guy Blandin, that we owe some of the rare plant species present in the botanical park.
Entrance fees are required for the visit. An excellent restaurant is located in the center of the garden.
