Grande Anse des Salines Beach in Saint-François charms visitors with its discreet setting and breathtaking view of pointe-des-Châteaux and the island of La Désirade. People come here to walk, swim, or go snorkeling in crystal-clear water. The place is peaceful, far from the crowds.

Note: Grande Anse des Salines Beach in Saint-François should not be confused with the famous Plage des Salines located in Sainte-Anne in Martinique.


Without tourist facilities

This spot is appreciated for its tranquility, its light-colored sand, and its open view over the lagoon. However, visitors should be aware that there are no public facilities here (no trash bins, no restrooms, etc.).

Warning: Several thefts of personal belongings left on the beach have been reported by vacationers on this isolated beach. Small opportunistic thieves sometimes come out of the bushes when people move away from their belongings. Keep an eye on your personal items.

What You Should Know

Itinerary: From Saint-François, follow the road toward Pointe des Châteaux (D118).

Parking: Park your car on the roadside before taking the footpath leading to the beach.

Limited parking along a busy road: it’s recommended to arrive early.

Tip: Using a rental car is recommended to get around in this area.

Sun exposure: Very few shaded spots are available. Bring a beach umbrella if you have one.

Protect seagrass beds and corals: Avoid walking in areas where marine vegetation is present.

Leave the beach clean: Please take your trash with you when you leave.

Keep the place peaceful: Speak quietly and avoid shouting unnecessarily, out of respect for others.

Choose an eco-friendly sunscreen: This helps protect marine life and keeps the water clear.
