Jean-Guy Caron Beach

Origin of the name

The name Jean-Guy Caron has been given to our beautiful municipal beach, located in the heart of the city. People visit it for its family-friendly atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and the quality of its clear waters.

Jean-Guy Caron was the mayor of Sainte-Adèle from 1973 to 1981 and was a citizen involved in the history of the municipality of Sainte-Adèle.

Dr. Jean-Guy Caron (1932-2005)

Jean-Guy Caron was born in Montreal in 1932. Initially a class president, he entered the University of Montreal and became president of the Faculty of Dentistry. After graduating, he settled in Sainte-Adèle and opened his practice there.

Richelieu Club Sainte-Adèle

Continuing his social involvement, Dr. Caron joined the executive committee of the Richelieu Club of Sainte-Adèle in 1962. Two years later, he remained active in this movement alongside merchant Jean-Guy Legault, Marc Dupont, manager of the Bank of Montreal, and Marcel Manseau, an insurance broker.

City councilor, then mayor of Sainte-Adèle

After serving as a city councilor, the dentist worked on developing the first urban planning commission for the new municipality formed in 1965 and became involved in establishing a tourism industry. Elected mayor in 1973, he remained in office for eight years. The recognition that Sainte-Adèle gained during this time led him to give speeches at various social and political events.

Founder of the Sainte-Adèle Dental Clinic

Dr. Caron founded the Sainte-Adèle Dental Clinic. The business took shape and over time brought in various collaborators to whom he handed over the reins in 1999. The Clinic then moved to the Promenades Sainte-Adèle before returning near its original site on Morin Street.
