This former church, dating from 1927, features pointed arch windows and buttresses on its side facades, which are typical of Gothic Revival architecture. Its gable wall features a triangular bay window added during the modernist movement that influenced church architecture in the 1960s and 1970s.
Historical Significance
This church’s significance lies in the fact that it was the first place of worship for the United Church of Rouyn-Noranda. It was open for worship from 1927 to 1980. The building now serves as a Golden Age club of Noranda.

You will be able to see how much this building has changed since 1927. During the 1959 expansion, the main entrance was replaced by a vertical bay window, and the pointed-arch windows were bricked up. The rectory, which stood to its left, was demolished in the 1980s. The church went from a neo-Gothic church to a more modern one.
