Mont-Brun

Mont-Brun... gateway to Aiguebelle National Park

Your stop at the Mont-Brun Food Coop is the perfect time for a quick resupply. You'll find a grocery store with a Maison des Viandes counter, a homemade pastry service, an SAQ agency, and even fishing gear and an ATM!

Above, a general view of the village of Saint-Norbert-de-Mont-Brun in 1943 is presented, where you can see the first church destroyed by fire on March 31, 1965.

If there's one thing that stands out in Mont-Brun, it's that its population is united and doesn't hesitate to mobilize when necessary! Whether it's to prevent a school closure or save a cherished building, the citizens of this neighborhood always step up! Notice the spirit and determination in the people you meet there!

A sad day

The Mont-Brun hearse transporting a burial. It was brought from Château-Richer by Father Vézina in 1938. Pulled by horses, the cart was beautifully decorated with remarkable woodwork. Observe the details!

The Work - The Wonders of Aiguebelle

The arrival of the settlers was via the Kinojévis River. At that time, it was the only means of transport. The bridge was built over the river to enhance the development of the parish, increase the population, and facilitate transport.

The trees represent the virgin forest at the arrival of the pioneers, providing the wood that allowed them to build their first dwelling. In doing so, they cleared their land to engage in agriculture. The Church represents the parish of Saint-Norbert-de-Mont-Brun. At the beginning of colonization, there was no municipality. The footbridge erected in Aiguebelle Park symbolizes the watershed line.
