Lipan Point

Lipan Point

This point is simply wonderful. It shows about everything the Grand Canyon has to offer. The most impressive part: we can see the river, the beginning of the inner gorge, the pink-black region made of igneous and metamorphic rocks, the Grand Canyon Supergroup, slightly tilted sedimentary rocks, the distinct horizontal layers that dominate the upper part of the Canyon.

It is high enough to contemplate some distant grounds surrounding the Grand Canyon. You can observe Unkar Delta, its rich soil is a suitable place to farm; archeological evidence shows that it was used a grown land in the prehistoric era. Several artefacts from the ancient populations of the Grand Canyon can be seen at the Tusayan Museum. It has its own ruins inside the main building and it is an excellent source to learn about the history of the men from Antiquity. The Hance Rapids can also be seen from here.
