The Festival du Voyageur

Western Canada's largest winter festival

233 Provencher Boulevard

This building, designed by the architect Étienne Gaboury during the 1960s, houses the administrative offices of the Festival du Voyageur who organises each year the biggest winter festival in Western Canada. One can also find souvenirs in the Voyageur Boutique located here.

The Festival's evolution

The first Festival du Voyageur was held in 1970 during the celebrations of the Centennial of the Province of Manitoba. Since then, the Festival du Voyageur offers an annual program of winter activities composed of concerts, contests, snow-sculpting, galas and historical interpretation. Summer activities with historic themes are also offered at Fort Gibraltar where the history of the Canadian Voyageur in 1815 is brought to life.
