Marceau House

1801, chemin du Village

This is a Victorian-style house with a gable façade. This century home located beside the cemetery once belonged to Ida Marceau, who took in boarders. Alexina Lamoureux, known as the “Cat Mother” because she looked after so many cats, worked as a housekeeper for Mrs. Marceau.

Mrs. Marceau sold the house to her nephew, Roland Marceau and his wife. Their daughter, married to Richard Morin, lived in the house in1989. The house has known several owners since then.
