The ''Rest O Pub des Quinze''

The restaurant history

Previously inside the building was a general store, a convenience store, a restaurant and later a hotel.

1950

L’Hôtel des Quinze open in 1950 and M. Léo Bourdon was the owner with his wife, Mme Rita Mercier. It was he who built this hotel which will become an important gathering place for several generations. The imposing building has not always had this scale, there have been several renovations over the years.

At that time, there was not yet a restaurant, there was a dining room for the hotel users and of course a bar in the basement.

1962

In 1962, l’Hôtel des Quinze received the fisrt drinking license in Témiscamingue!

In 1964, M. Bourdon build an extension behind the hotel, which will better accommodate customers. Subsequently, the owners succeeded one another including : Mme Jeanine and René Massie for 15 years of operation. M. Massie is no longer able to take care of the hotel as he would like due to health problems. They rent the restaurant to Mme Carole et M. Laurent Gagnon, and the bar-salon was operated by M. Richard Mercier for a while. They will finaly sell the hotel to Mme Gloria Desrochers in 1985. For a few years, her daugther, Mme Guylaine Lampron take charge of the bar-salon and makes it an attractive place to party.

1994

It’s in 1994, that Mme Claudette Lachance and M. Michel Poitras will buy the etablishement et will take a really good care for 13 years, to then sel lit to Mme Ghyslaine et M. Ghyslain Rivard in 2007. In 2010, M. Pascal Perreault become the new and the last owner.

A fire completely destroys the restaurant

January 9, 2020, the entire parish is shaken, saddened and above all on alert to support the owner, M. Pascal Perreault, his employee and his tenants in surviving this tragic fire who fortunately did not cause any injuries. We have all lost this majestic building dating back more than 70 years which was well established on the street. A thousand memorie have vanished into dust.

Two months later, M. Perrault rolls up it’s sleeve and offers to his customers a sugar shack brunch at the Simard room, in order to maintain the link with its customers.

This restaurant/hôtel/bar-salon will remain engraved in our memories forever.
