Angliers, a Landscape for History - Patrimonial Tour

Discover the blazing landscapes and striking stories of the village of Angliers. Founded in 1924, our municipality is located on the Lac des Quinze and Lac Simard landfill, which has been a reservoir since the dam was built by the Ontario Hydro Power Commission in the early 20th century.

EXPLORE

Discover the treasures of Angliers with the interactive map offered on BaladoDiscovery. This will show you the local history highlights and give you access to audio clips on each of these historical points of interest.

IN PLACE

Live an authentic experience by being on site. The road suggested by the map will take you off the beaten path, in addition to situating you in real time among the places that will be discussed. Take the time to admire the splendor of the enchanting scenery that nature offers you through this tour.

OPTIMIZE THE EXPERIENCE

The use of the BaladoDiscovery application is suggested. The circuit can be pre-loaded, allowing you to access the field offline later. Wearing headphones is also suggested in the context of a walking tour.

RETURN TO THE PAST

The Canadian Pacific hydroelectric plant and station are at the origin of the village of Angliers. This name is a reminder of the village of Angliers, in the Poitou region of France, where the family of Sir Lomer Gouin, Premier of Quebec from 1905 to 1920, originated.

On the edge of the majestic Lac des Quinze, Angliers is a tiny town that was shaped by proud builders. Angliers is the generosity, the warm welcome of citizens, the pleasure of meeting, but also the history of our lives, however young it may be...

Happy discovering !
