Queenston Heights National Historic Site

A battle brought to life

Butterfly Conservatory

A little further south, visit the butterfly conservatory run by Niagara Parks. It's unlikely that you'll receive services in French on site, but the website (see below) is in French.

In fact, it's one of the largest conservatories of glazed butterflies in North America. More than 2,000 different species reside here, and they'll be sure to accompany you on your visit.

Think a moving butterfly is quiet? Stand in the centre of the main building and close your eyes... dizziness guaranteed!

In the Queenston area, south of Niagara-on-the-Lake, you can visit this historic site where a battle occurred, which was restaged by actors dressed in the colours of yesteryear.

If you're feeling up to it, don't hesitate to climb the 235 steps to the Brock monument for a spectacular view of the Niagara border.
