The National Hotel

The construction of the station brought a large number of workers and visitors to Tring-Jonction. Accommodation and food service needs were obvious. Several hotels were built nearby the station. In 1914, the Paré and Duval hotels burnt down. After Mr. Duval's departure, Jos Paré built the impressive National Hotel that was inaugurated in 1915. Activities resumed. The years went by in the turmoil. Business hours:

A new road was built behind the heart of the village (Notre-Dame Street). Armand Cloutier (owner) moved its hotel there in 1952 for increased visibility.

Well positioned, expanded and modernized several times, the National Hotel still remains an appreciated meeting place: whether for a wedding celebration, a prom, or for performances by renown artists and comedians (including Éric Lapointe and Peter Macleod) as well as local artists (David Latulippe).
