Sur le lac Rond

Sur le lac Rond by Pauline T. Paquin

Pauline T. Paquin adores children and consequently paints them with a great passion. Since 1987, she has been exploring and experimenting, and mixes oil painting, texture, paper and collage. Many galleries throughout Canada are authorized sellers of her work.

SUR LE LAC ROND - 2006

Lac Rond provided residents with drinking water and ice along with fish for food. In winter, many horse races were held on the lake. Early on, a public beach was opened. As of 1921, canoe and rowboat regattas were held on the lake. In 1943, the municipality marked the lake for skiers from Chantecler to ski and to park their cars.

During the 1960s, the lake had to be decontaminated: pollution was already having an effect. Many family activities are still available at Lac Rond, such as a skating rink, a cross-country ski trail and a walking trail.
