The Cacouna of the late nineteenth century was a key source of inspiration for Émile Nelligan’s poems. Come experience the unique energy of this town that affected him so deeply. See the places where he spent time, follow the pathways, walk in his footsteps, smell the same fragrances, breathe the salt air, feel the soothing music of his words... Sharpen your senses! The trail begins at the Émile-Nelligan library, behind the Church of Saint-Georges in Cacouna, on the north side of the building.
This tour is a part of the Heritage Walk, including also : “The Short Tour’’, “The Extended Tour’’ and “Maritime Cacouna and its Old Hamlets’’. The last one is currently in production.
